Six Week Workshop on MBSR (Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction)
Wednesdays, 5:00 – 5:55pm, G15 Malet Street
2 May-6 June 2018
This academic workshop is designed to help students from the School of Social Sciences, History and Philosophy to address anxiety and stress, associated with their academic study and to manage the competing aspects of life which impact on academic performance.
The course will be based on the research, work and methods of Jon Kabat Zinn and will be experientially based. Particular emphasis is placed upon daily home practice and the session(s) will focus on practice, which increases awareness and ability to address habitual thought patterns which often lead to stress and anxiety. Sessions will offer tools to transform thought patterns into more positive mental states, which will in turn have a positive effect on academic focus.
Students who are interested in attending should come along at the times and location listed above. There is no need to book in advance.
