Doctoral Masterclass: Dr. Leigh Gardner

We are looking forward to hosting our third Methodological Masterclass of the series on Wednesday 21 February 2018 from 18:00-20:00, and hope you can make it.

We are NOT in the Dreyfus Room this time. The class will be held in Room L103 at the Institute of Advanced Legal Studies, Charles Clore House, 17 Russell Square, London, WC1B 5DR.

This session will see Dr Leigh Gardner of LSE discuss methodologies of economic history in relation to her research on colonial economies in West Africa. The discussion will focus on how we should approach economies where we have very imbalanced data (usually from the side of the imperial power), and how we can use these economic records to glean insight into social and political relations between locals and imperial agents, as well as between periphery and metropole.

If you are not able to get a place through Eventbrite you are still welcome, but please drop us an email at jackmerlinwatling@gmail.com and snewma07@mail.bbk.ac.uk so we can make sure we have enough seats etc.
