The following role is available:
Administrative assistant – on research grant PAR00.PAA25 ‘Waiting Times’ (Wellcome Trust; PI Dr Lisa Baraitser)
Open to existing SSHP PhD students. To cover from 1 September 2017 until 31 August 2022.
The team envisage these additional duties would comprise 105 hours per year in term time (timing of work to depend on project requirements) for 5 years, this will be 0.10 FTE.
A PhD student undertaking the work would be paid 0.1fte of grade 5, which is £2814pa.
Liaison will be with the Principal Investigator as work supervisor/line manager.
Waiting Times is a five-year research project, funded by the Wellcome Trust, that investigates the place of ‘waiting’ in healthcare. The project is led by Lisa Baraitser (Psychosocial Studies, Birkbeck) and Laura Salisbury (English, Exeter) and draws together a team of 8 academics (two PhD students, two post-doctoral fellows, two senior research fellows and the PIs) who will conduct the research, and disseminate it through academic events and a ‘public engagement programme’. We are looking for an administrator to work with us on the project. The post consists of 3 hours administrative work per week for 30 weeks of the year over the 5 years of the project. The main administrative role will be to set up and minute regular project meetings. In addition, depending on workload, there may also be the opportunity to help organise research conferences and symposia, support junior researchers in data management associated with their research, and maintain the project’s website and electronic communications system.
