Birkbeck History Society: Autumn Term Programme

Birkbeck History Society is pleased to announce its Autumn programme of speakers, beginning on October 8, 2015 with KCL’s Prof. Edith Hall.

  • Thursday 8th October 2015, 6pm, Clore building, room 306:  Prof. Edith Hall (KCL) – “Ancient Greek Minds and the Sea”  (Edith Hall)
  • Monday 2nd November, 6pm: Prof. Jane Caplan (Oxford, Birkbeck) – “Tattoos and Popular Culture in Pre-war Germany” (Jane Caplan)
  • Friday 13th November 2015, 6pm: Prof. Robert Iliffe (Sussex) – “Isaac Newton’s World: The Private Tribulations of a Puritan Natural Philosopher in Late 17th Century England” (Robert Iliffe)
  • Friday 11th December 2015, 6pm: Lisa Hilton -“Elizabeth I; Renaissance Prince” (Lisa Hilton) This event will be followed by end of term drinks.
