The British Association for Victorian Studies (BAVS) annual conference will be held in Kent, UK, in September 2014 on the theme of ‘Victorian Sustainability.’
For the conference, Dr Sam Randalls (UCL) is hoping to put together a panel or two that link histories of meteorology/climatology with Victorian studies. He defines history in a very broad way to also include cultural, sociological and political analyses of the ways in which the atmosphere was written about and discussed, and atmospheric risks were debated and managed.
If you would like to join the panel, please send 300-word abstracts to Sam Randalls (firstname.lastname@example.org) by the 24 March
