From this current term (summer 2013) the School of Social Sciences, History and Philosophy will be implementing the following process for all Postgraduate Research students in relation to supervisory meetings:
All students are required to send a brief report by email to their supervisor (copying in the departmental administrator firstname.lastname@example.org) after each meeting. The report needs to be a brief summary of the meeting and an outline of the actions agreed (for example, date of next meeting; details of the work-plan / next step in research agreed at the meeting etc.). It is hoped that this summary will assist students with their research and help focus future meetings. The College code of practice is that all FT Postgraduate Research students should meet their supervisors three times a term (PT students twice a term).
