The next Graduate Research Day for students in Birkbeck’s department of History, Classics and Archaeology has been scheduled for Thursday 21 March. Graduate students are invited to present their work in progress (typically a chapter from their thesis), and all are welcome to attend and discover more about the research being produced in the department.
The time allotted to presenters will be approximately 30 minutes, with a suggested presentation length of 20 minutes followed by 10 minutes for questions and discussion. Powerpoint facilities will be available for use if needed, and tea, coffee and snacks will hopefully be provided.
Feedback from previous events has been positive, and the day represents an excellent opportunity for students to gain experience delivering a paper and receive feedback on work in a relaxed and supportive setting. Students should also note that this may be the last such event this academic year, as a summer event may not be viable.
Interested in presenting a paper? Send your name, paper title, thesis topic and supervisor’s name to Barbara Warnock (firstname.lastname@example.org) by 5.00pm on 22 February!
